In can be a constant wrenching of the wheel.

Mike, I heard the most captivating interview with author, Paul Oppenheimer, last evening. He wrote, Machiavelli: A Life Beyond Ideology. The astonishing thing, is that what one believes about Machiavelli, as handed down because of his work, The Prince, is quite erroneous, or at best, misunderstood. What a Zen man of his times...and with such an insight into the human psyche. Anyway, I thought of your writing and it reflects, in many ways, what Oppenheimer was speaking about Machiavelli. I think I can send a podcast link, but am not sure. I will look and see. It isn't very long, but it is intriguing.

Your essay here, on the system, is even more reflective than you can imagine, maybe.

And you are right, nothing must be a conclusion...but only evolution.

Blessings,
Nahnni

Nahnni,

I don't know what "it" is, but still...

Now, is the "system" artificial? Obviously, if one looks back into time immemorial, this system has existed. Was it set up artificially? And is it akin to something like "outside" intelligence? Kind of going out on a limb with that, but one reads theories...oy. If one looks at the pool of life, certainly it is systematic...birth, succor, bonding, foraging, nutrition, aging, accident, death, etc, but does not appear artificially imposed as a mechanism. So, the ego, itself, is beholding to the system? The curse of the human biological mechanism? as it were. That, if left to itself, becomes its own chaos??

Is serendipity beyond the boundary of the system?? Certainly, there is a boundary to this system, especially if it is artificial. Is life in one corner and the system in the other, like a colossal boxing ring? What makes one disposition of mind attempt to fight it and another cave in? Then, the question might be, what is one actually fighting against? Abdication of soul to the system?? That tiny spark which recognizes the artificial? Be in the world, not of it? That concept is fascinating, as it hints at something beyond the system...or not, could be just a fable, but "feels" beyond that. Of course, feeling is unreliable, subject to shape-shifting.

You always top yourself, but I think you are becoming more clear in what you are attempting to communicate writing by writing.

The image looks like one of those medieval churches made out of human bones. What a fantastic metaphor.

Is the system designed to drive one mad if one does not acquiesce, or if one thinks one CAN actually separate oneself from it? I suppose that is somewhat the design of meditative consciousness systems.

Well, I could go on and on as you know. Great post. Definitely, thought-provoking for one pondering in Purgatory.

Blessings...of something or other
Nahnni :)
