I've read the avatar literature years ago so I'm only slightly familiar with it. However, I know Ellis's RET very well and it has been helpful to me as well and many of the clients I work with.

Yes, I know the costs of considering things outside conventional wisdom and, in fact, I'm paying a little fee right now in the "Fully Engaged" pod. Ha!

No I don't think the past can ever be transcended, just transformed, as you once pointed out. Maybe that's what the "shattering" actually does.

Thanks!
mikeS

Hello Mike~

But this only asserts that you withhold your meaning and not that meaning is absent."

For some crazy reason, I am reminded of the myth of the hobo. Is the hobo running from, to or with freedom? Or nothing at all? Nothing appears to hold meaning for the hobo, but his wandering and the next train to somewhere.

But that is simply a side-note meandering of what I wanted to say. This post reminds me of an Avatar seminar I went to (free, of course, complete with a $25. package of materials...lol, but even that became useful.) This is not a bad thing, because even though I find Harry Palmer as crazy as a rogue scientologist might be, the basic premise of the seminar (we experience what we believe and if we don't believe we experience what we believe, then we don't...which still makes the first statement true) was a sound one and not that far removed from Albert Ellis' rational/emotive therapy, which happened to save my life and sanity many years ago. What I wanted to say is that I am beginning to grasp what it is you are trying to say and this has been beneficial.

"Infinite constructs can miraculously change your reality because of your refusal to manufacture experience based on past precedent. Unfortunately, non-reliance on the past will make you seem a little ‘crazy’ in contrast to all the sane and intelligent people seeking rewards through outcomes."

I think this is the most difficult of things for an individual or society to do. The "message" of the past as it relates to any current reality/message becomes solidified and one appears to pay a steep penalty for stepping outside the pre-ordained box. And it is the most frightening place for one to go when going beyond it. It may even require a complete shattering, both in the material and psychological sense. I know it has for me, and I am nowhere near a place where the past does not hold some element of power.

One of the benefits of meditation (and I came to it only with the hope of quieting a racing mind)is that when there is no real expectation, things change and one becomes more an explorer than a seeker.

Anyway, thanks for musing beyond the boxes and sharing that.

Blessings,
Nahnni

Yes, if a mind thinks it, then it must be conceptu...

Yes, if a mind thinks it, then it must be conceptual.

However, chemicals work great too!

Thanks for the kind words!
mikeS

This is great stuff. Concepts are the necessary stuff of words and writing, and "oneness" (or whatever we're calling it today) isn't any concept, it's just what is, no matter how to the point the concept happens to be. However, the concepts in this entry are uplifting, and seem to open doors of perception without taking any chemicals! I guess the words "I" choose at the moment are more along the lines of being a prisoner of the story of redemption, implying that even the most worthy and highest goals are constraining, much the same concepts you espouse here.
