Dreamitude

...refers to any attitude which began in dream and still dominates even after awaking from it - "I had a major dreamitude when I woke up because of the terrible things he did to me in my dream." (urban dict)

The mood persists. But you woke long ago.

Look at everything you do. It's all about making sense of the senseless. Trying to extract from the world something you can trust, because you generally do not trust your "self." Eventually everything and everyone you invest in, as true and reliable, must fail you. Trust fades in a dream because nothing lasts. Such is the nature of a dream.

Egocentricity is a dream of abandonment. Of being cast adrift and alone. But there is no land for which to find safety and security. There is only endless chaotic drifting from one wave to the next. Eventually, you will drown. Everyone drowns eventually. It seems to be the only choice.

Death is inherent to the nature of your dream.

There is nothing to anchor to. There is NO land and there will be NO rescue. Everyone you look to for rescue will pass you by, only to fade into the horizon. At first it seems they will help you, but they too must fade from view. Fading is inherent to the dream and all things must fade.

There is only one hope for the castaway and that is to recognize he is dreaming. To realize one is dreaming is to toss overboard the idea of "reality" and "truth."An endless ocean holds only one truth and that is death. Ask any lifelong sailor.

Surrender the notion that the lifeboat is sinking (if only it would!). The drifting only continues endlessly. Eventually, you will jump off the boat as a means of saving your "self." But you will not hear the words "man overboard" as you go under. In the dream of a castaway, it is expected you will jump. Everyone jumps eventually.

Such is the nature of your dream.

Such a melancholy post...or so it feels. Everything dies...in this reality. Strange is the human being, fearing, yet on some level having a death wish. There are all these little mechanisms fighting for fruition in the brain and the ego, being prime dictator over all those little sparks of potential. Perhaps we have, each of us, come to heal or reconcile ourselves to whatever it is that is damaged between us all.

It's all about value. The ego will not let go of what it pictures as value. No one will go destitute to free the world...not even Mother Theresa would do that.

  2. The photo fits this post perfectly.

    Dreamitude-yes what a great word.

That's all this is; a left over feeling of something that never happened.

Where do dreams go but poof.

What "value" to a dream, when you know your dreaming.

The only value is in waking up?

    Very well put!

It's like the feeling of spinning your wheels or walking in place. Always the sense of going somewhere, but really never getting anywhere.

    Thanks!
