Seeking Out the Witness for Truth

Once the ego-self decides on who speaks the truth, that becomes the witness for truth and all other facts are minimized as subordinate or locked out completely.

The ego seeks to transcend itself, but based only on the world’s terms. Therefore, it looks to the world for witnesses to truth and always finds them.

This is because the ego constructs the witness as a relative experience intrinsically exclusive to itself. The ego must deny its construction of its experiences simply because it cannot ever transcend what it has determined CAN be experienced.

To go beyond expectation is a threat to the ego’s self-imposed limitations. Such limits are projected outward and so, seem to come from the world. This is delusional, since all experience is interior.Therefore, the ego will seek to aggrandize itself, but only from what it believes the world (society) has determined is within its range of operation.

The witness will be easy to recognize because they speak from the past and for the past. The witness for the truth will speak in terms that the ego-self can easily understand, because the witness is YOU.

Therefore, the witness, or teacher of truth, will inform the ego exactly what it expects to learn because experience can only come from what it already knows. Even the most incredible and outlandish information must have some connection to the past for it to be credible to the ego.

The moment you believe you have found the one who speaks “The Truth,” your ego has merely secured a tenuous alliance that must eventually fail. Although the ego constructs and locks in its own experiences, it fully trusts nothing it experiences because it does NOT trust itself and this is why it seeks out witnesses for “truth.”

The ego is a culmination, or composite, of past information. It relies exclusively on the capacity of memory to educate itself. This is how it knows itself. Without the past, the ego-self could not possibly know it 'exists.' 

Thus, every teacher of truth, no matter how profound or seemingly transcendent, is nothing more than the shards of remembered learning that the ego weaves into an experience in which it believes it is learning "truth." This form of learning is very limited indeed, simply because it is already known and NOT learned at all.

To learn truth, you must teach it otherwise it cannot be known. However, the paradox is that what you teach must be free of the past. Therefore, you can’t teach and learn truth, but you can teach and learn that nothing you believe is true. When the conditions you set are abolished, truth will come of its own accord and you will have absolutely nothing to do with that, because you cannot possibly KNOW.

So be of good cheer, let down your guard and surrender your vigilance, it’s not up to “you’ and never has been. Now you can fully engage a world of others without FEAR, since this is all you’ve ever needed to teach...

...so that you could learn it.
